edison has a denoise de hiss majiggy which works quite well,
i think there may even be a tutorial for it by nfx which would be worth hunting down if your just starting to sample dirty records.

like half the time at least i'll leave the crackle of my recording depending on what type of track im making or ill just eq out a bit of the high end hiss but i think my practises have mostly grown out of lazyness as when i sample into the mpc all i can be assed to do is to low pass them a little bit

I personally don't normalize my samples, if the input is that low you may want to find a way to boost the input before recording your sample. Here are a couple noise removal tuts that may be helpful.

is there no way to control the output of your turntable? any kind of control panel for the turntable on your computer? you said it was usb right? would think it would come with some kind of app If not then maybe add a fruity limiter and adjust the gain before recording to get a good sample
