Okay....I'm to the point where I'm successfully making some pretty good beats but I feel like I am going about certain things in the most difficult way possible.

One of my major issues is that I cannot figure out how to loop a track at the point I want it to. Sometimes a certain track does not just fit into the 4/4 time signature but I still want the track to loop. When I'm in piano roll I can specify where the track loops and it plays fine from there but then when I exit out of the piano roll it goes back to the way it was.

Any help with that problem would be greatly appreciated.

Try putting your loop in slicex. It will autochop it to fit the time. If not, you can control the chops and when they hit in the piano roll. You can also chop the pattern itself further when it's in the playlist.

Thank you for your help...it isn't what I was asking but it will still be helpful.

What I was asking was how to set where the piano roll itself loops with midi data. I'll give an example:

Let's say you make a pattern. It's got a kick and a clap plus a bass line and various synth parts. Every part in the pattern is 4 bars. Now you decide you want to extend the drum pattern and throw in some variation so you change the pattern to 8 bars on the top left of the sequencer. Now the whole pattern is extended out including the piano rolls of the bass/synth patterns. Let's say you want the bass and synth patterns to continue looping after 4 bars. Obviously you can go into each piano roll and duplicate, but that poses some problems. Sometimes if you played some parts that are not snapped and you duplicate it can be a little time consuming to move the duplicated notes to the proper starting point especially if you have multiple parts. I know it's not that big of a deal and you can do it relatively quickly but it seems like there should be a much easier way.

When you go into the piano roll of a given part you can right click and drag at the top to tell it to loop, but when you exit out it does not continue looping there. That is what I would like to know how to do. If certain parts in a pattern are lets say 16 bars long but one other part you just want to loop every 4 bars, is there a way to set that piano roll to do that instead of duplicating over and over?

I think I didn't understand your question but I'm gonna ask anyway.Don't you use the playlist to arrange your patterns ?
Check out this tutorial by NFX.If I didn't misunderstood your question then this should answer your question:

I think you did understand my question as that is a good answer and a method that I have started to use. I either create different patterns for different parts or I build a pattern and split by channel. The down side is that you have to build the playlist to build your song. I just wish fl studio had two additions.....one would be specifying loop points per track and the other would be the ability to simply add or take away certain parts of each pattern and then cloning the pattern. I may not be making sense now but I appreciate your help and I understand that I have to work using the softwares built in functionality.
