    hi people, i have a doubt which needs a clarification from everyone. wheb doing/mixing house music, is there any lower pitch bass instrument involved? i couldnt hear any in those remixes nowadays and started wondering about it. sorry for my doubt, thanks so much

    My man this is one of those questions that doesn't have an absolute answer. I'm not too familiar with house music but from what I've heard you can have anything from just a solo kick to a synth bassline pumping.

    It's like this - You can make the song literally however you want it. There is no set instrument that has to be in a certain genre and that's what makes every song so unique. You can use an 808, bass guitar, synth bass, ANY instrument that you think sounds good down low.

    The best way to find out is to experiment and create your own style.

    oftentimes, there is a bass which is sidechained by the kick. in addition to that, nearly every instrument is sidechained by the kick when it hits the lows, because kick and bass are the most important instruments in dance music. the snare is sidechained, too, because it hits the kick. sidechaining is like a filter and you just hear the higher frequencies in case it is sent by the kick which might let to your conclusion that there are no lower pitch bass instruments. as dj nance already mentioned, there are no rules and sidechaining is used a lot more in electronic music than other kinds of music styles.
