    Fellow producers!

What absorbs the most time  in your beatproject? For me it is mostly searching for sounds I like and getting a melody flowing.

    Just curious about others!

Well if searching for sounds you like is a bit time consuming for you, you might wanna try sitting down and think (Before you start producing of course) of what would sound good together in your overall song. Think:"What can sound good with this" Or "Is this sound gonna play well with this 1?, " "if it does, how can i improve on it?"...........Just think towards this line of thought........

Now as for me the part of my projects that takes up the most time are the arrangement.....like choosing a good technique for each transition, break and such.

Deff. Mixing & Mastering.. There's this phrase a sound engineer made (forgot his name). He said: "The last 10% of the job, takes 90% of the time.", and it's definately true..

true, mixing and mastering do take up a good bit of time, but, one should remember to keep the mix as simple as possible by not adding too much stuff. As far as mastering goes.......we should by now know we CANT master on our own (Professionally that is) but you can however putting on some EQs, Compressions, Frequency analyzers and such on the master....just to make it sound good.

I get what you are saying but for me it is time consuming to find quality sounding instruments (vst, soundfont etc) and layering them together to get a dope sound. Or maybe tweaking the synth untill I get that nice sound. And then I am not even started on the melody..

So for intance I want to create a Westcoast song with a G-Funk whistle, most of the time will be consumed by finding or creating that whistle sound..
