It's a beautiful new Oxygen 49 3rd Gen... but after finding out M-Audio does not like FL Studio, assigning everything manually has been.... very challenging. Yes, I set the Play/Record/Stop button easily enough, but what about the other 3 buttons that FL doesn't have? (Loop, FF, RW). I'd like to set the FF and RW buttons to scroll through the channels on the Step Sequencer (by default it's the up/down arrow keys) and I guess the Loop button could mute a channel. Seems like a no brainer right? But I haven't found a way to do this and FL's manual doesn't seem to cover it.

Secondly, I NEEED to know how to play more than one sound at the same time. For example: A drum beat with a snare and a kick. How do I set a note to play the kick's channel and another note to play the snare, like I see everyone knows how to do from those Youtube videos of people making their songs live?

And how do I get better at matching the tempo when I play live? I know practicing helps, but would it be easier if I knew how to play a piano? Suddenly it feels so much larger and the keys so far away when you play live....

Unfortunately I can only answer the second question...You can use layers, and assign each of the sample in that layer to a note (via split children I think), or you could use the FPC and assign the samples to the keys.

@k_meleon: yes, I figured out how to use the Layer stuff, it's just that I can't figure out how to set up the buttons.... and KEEP the settings. When I set the faders on the keyboard to the mixer's tracks, it forgets that and I have to do it again.

The "track" buttons which are suposed to select different tracks in the Step Sequencer don't do that either.

And is it possible to set the keyboard to do things that don't have a CC number associated with them - for example a button to open the Playlist view or to UNDO and REDO?

Pro tip: Right Click on what ever button you want to use.
So lets say you want the master fader. Right click. Press "Link to controller" and then move what ever slider on your keyboard. You will be using this alot and I think it is practically on every Fl button. Just be sure to use the apropriate controler for what ever you want to use. Like using a slider to mute something is abit silly.
Use FPC if you want to use drums but this will be abit harder if you don't have any pads.

*Edit* Being on tempos is easily fixed by turning on the metronome. If your still having problems keeping on beat. Then you need practice. I personally get friends to do piano parts and stuff since they are much more skilled at the piano than me.

    NEW PROBLEM:

I kinda let this thread die, but I want you all to know that even though I eventually did get to save my settings for the MMC controls, and the faders/knobs, the other buttons don't work. I also bought a pedal to go with the keyboard. Still can't play in time very well but I'm working on it.

The NEW PROBLEM is that for no reason at all a few days ago, my keyboard's tuning changed itself. Middle C plays D# now instead of what it's supposed to, and the same goes for every other note on my keyboard. It happened after I was using it one night, turned it off and unplugged it. FL gave me a weird error about a feature not being supported; it didn't say what feature it was talking about nor I didn't press or change ANYTHING for it to say that.

Even weirder: I can't re-install the Oxygen drivers! The only thing I can install from the CD is the ProTools Direct Link. I don't have PT so that's useless. The buttons are all greyed out (disabled) except the "Learn" button which just opens the user guides.

This probably needs its OWN thread but I figure I should just save space and ask it in this old one.
