I think better Piano playing....followed by more practicing my bassline melodies, then stop being lazy when it comes to finishing up my beats

<span class="afEmot" style="width: 20px; height: 20px; cursor: hand;" onclick="amaf_insertHTML('<img src=\'/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/WB_default/emoticons/w00t.gif\' />')" unselectable="on"><img alt="" width="20" height="20" title="<img src='/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/WB_default/emoticons/w00t.gif' align="absmiddle" border="0" />" onmousedown="return false;" src="http://warbeats.com/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/WB_default/emoticons/w00t.gif" /></span>&nbsp;One thing that I would like to change to improve my beats is MY studio. Currently I have more plugins (34)&nbsp;and filters (25)than my cpu can not&nbsp;handle. I also use a nice pair of head phones&nbsp;but since i am getting into stereo shaping I am starting to lose alot of sound that is there but i cannot hear. Although I want to upgrade I currently have FL9 Producer&nbsp;Edition&nbsp;XXL, dont really want 10 since I invested so much $(800+) into this one. So now I wanna make these changes so i can get that VIENNA </p>

WHo lET TOnY oUt?

1.) not using the same scale to compose my tracks... ive been using the same one ever since i got a midi pretty much
2.) getting better at the piano and just composing more complete sounding beats with more variation and excitement... make beats more dynamic

I would improve my "head to hand" abilities. It's so frustrating to have a great melody in your head, but halfway through trying to create it, you loose the original melody.

Several things...

- Not being too lazy to finish beats.
- Being organized and dedicated enough to my other work to set aside time for beats.
- Not being too lazy to learn how to use my new keyboard.
- Not being afraid to borrow heavily from other genres.
- Posting my tracks on Warbeats for critiques.
- Ear training.
- Remembering my melodies after I play them on my keyboard.
- My music theory and ability to read sheet music (I read too slow).
- Focusing more on the MUSIC I'm listening to and less with my head in the clouds about some undetermined fame and fortune.

...and more that I haven't thought of.

I'd like to improve my piano playing skills. There have been many times I've had complex melodies in my head, but took forever to lay them down cause my piano skills wasn't good enough.

^ I hear you. There are great music that runs in mind but if you really don't know how to put them in reality, that will surely give you a pain in the head.
