Alright, I don't think anyone will even remember me on here but yeah I used to be pretty active on this site and I stopped coming on here not because I wasn't loyal to the site but because College is very time consuming. Lol. My grades are good though if anybody was wondering.
And yeah. I guess I'm back.
But this made me wonder. Any of my warbeats peers also college students? Or Highschool? Middle school? Elementary ? |

This is my secon year in college and I can say the same. College is VERY time consuming. I don't make as many beats as I used to and I have some leadershi roles on campous which take more of my time away from music and warbeats and everything else in general. |

I agree, I'm in my second year of Uni and it's so busy I barely have time for my course and part time work, let alone music as well. But you gotta think, in the end it'll be worth it! |

Oh so most of us are around the same age? That's pretty cool. How do some of you manage? And what are your majors? |

Asher Roth anyone??... Maybe not.
But really, it gets worse as you get into your upper-division classes. Thankfully I am a Recording Arts major so I have plenty of time for music...lol
And this is the reason I am considering dropping out....
Look at Kanye West! |

I'm a 5th year "junior" at CSU Chico. Took me a couple years at a community college to actually figure out what I wanted to do lol. |

I'd say it gets easier as you get into higher-level classes...assuming you're majoring in something you're actually interested in. The first couple years suck getting those core requirements out of the way but after that you get to concentrate on the stuff you're really interested in. |

My next question would be then How do you all stay motivated to stick with music? Personally, I write lyrics in my spare time to keep me connected. |

I feel you on that, but when I said "worse" I was referring to the ammount of time needed to be spent on your work, not the quality of your classes. I definitely enjoy my upper division classes waaay more than my general ed/lower division. My next question would be then How do you all stay motivated to stick with music? If music is your passion, you shouldn't really need "motiviation" to stick with it right? Maybe "inspiration" would be a better word? |

Sometimes you just gotta put it on the back burner for a while. Often I find that it actually helps a lot to take a break from music for a week or two and concentrate on other things, cause then I've got a backlog of ideas I want to work on and it makes it that much more exciting to get back into it.

Gotcha...at that point though hopefully it doesn't really feel like work, ya know? I would hate having to get up early for a cross-country or having to leave all my beers chillin in the fridge on a Saturday evening cause I had to do a night flight in a couple hours, but I got up in the air it worth it |
