My roadblock is that it's a lot of work and streaming that much bandwidth is very expensive.

That's why I say team up with a rival site. As Saint said, there's gonna be something else along soon enough, bad businesses don't stay in business too long. And any new service similar to Warbeats would probably be delighted to get some partnership thing going where Warbeats can promote the site, get users to sign up, in return Warbeats get's integrated/personalised players etc. Warbeats users get special offers on the music site. Could be something big.

The problem with soundclick is they don't like the beat maker aspect, they intended it to be a site for musicians to upload and share music. So if all beat makers could leave the site it'd be doing them a huge favour

4 people isn't enough to run the site, but with a revenue of $400k (or so I've read), by the time you've paid your server costs, taxes, other overheads, there's not gonna be much left to hire staff. Any site like that is gonna need a lot of man power, and even a behemoth like yourself NFX isn't gonna have the time for it, which is why I say running a partnership with a similar site might be a good option.

&LMAO at the new soundclick wiki page as well.

don't you have two servers running now NFX? so what would it cost to put in a third just for music share? Is it something that with a few good donations would make possible or is it out of reach and design for this site? just a few thoughts

Edit: just read your post on the 16th, so what is your estimate for streaming that much content?

Or you could do that kind of thing that Rocbattles does but better: 10 beats uploaded free (you can always delete and put new ones instead) and more for a fee (like 5$/month for 100+ beats).

NFX, i'm glad your SC page is back, because neverthless is a service you are paying to get. I don't use soundclick. Did an account long long ago and don't even know (don't care, really) if it still exists. For me, personally, it sucks and i smelled that since way back. Too bad they did these to you. But i guess this will set an example for the future. For others. If you can look at situations like this as you are looking at a mirror, then you know what to do next time.

On another note, have you guys (WB fam) tried Bandcamp.com (http://bandcamp.com/tag/hip-hop) . It's an excellent site to upload and sell your music. Bandcamp has a service with no pop up adds, no strange adds in your page. Just your music, your artwork (album cover) and the text you add to each song or album.

I have an account there, and although my uploaded material is not for sale yet, i wouldn't hesitate to link a paypal account (no paypal account connected to my bank acount yet) to start my lil biz there. As some of you know, i'm not about paying to boost my plays or chart positions in any site. So bandcamp does it for me to promote my stuff, and there is where i plan to sell it, in the future.

I know some of you have different goals then me with this beatmaking life. But, hey! These are my two cents on the matter.

NFX, stay up broda!

WB is more useful for me then that cheezy "pay to get played" SC allday, anyday.

I do like bandcamp services alot, but it's more geared towards selling Singles, LP's etc, then it is towards selling beats on a lease. Meaning it's a great service if you want to put out your LP, many good artist use it that way.

They put me on review because of copy write infringement , Im sample-based but there are 3-4 top producers on Sc that use samples every time yet they choose to turn a blind eye. I prob wont see that 500dollars again. They shut me off on wednesday when i was top 15, Im SlickBeatzEnt. Im disgusted! I dont know what i can do!

Here was the reply they sent me

"Hello,

We place many accounts under review daily as we locate copyright violations, and that is ongoing. At this time, we cannot reinstate your page until either you remove the unlicensed samples, or provide proof that you have licensed each sample. We also do not refund promotions lost or delayed because of account reviews due to copyright violations. We must follow US Copyright Law, and we clearly state before each song upload that the material you upload must NOT violate copyright. If you do not want to put your account at risk, you must follow all rules."

Absolute joke. I dont mind mind taking down my tracks.
But its the fact that i paid for promo and they blocked me the next day so i couldin reek the benefits from it.
