Does the sample(s) sound different outside of FL Studio?

I sometimes have an issue when I constantly replace samples, for example: Ill set up a basic beat, but say I don't like the sound of snare. Ill load snare after snare after snare until I find one that sounds right. Sometimes after loading several snares into the same channel, the snare starts to sound distorted. In that case I just delete that channel and load the sample into a fresh one. Then it sounds fine. Don't know if that's the problem you're having but it might be just that.

Sorry to bump this thread up, but I have the EXACT same problem. Making it a new channel doesn't work, and this is the only forum that has someone who has previously asked this question. It sounds fine when I sample it on the browser, but when I put it into the step sequencer, it sounds like a distorted lazer or something.

Try clicking on the kick, snare, hat (or whatever it is that's not sounding right) in the step sequencer. The CHANNEL SETTINGS window should pop up. Make sure the PITCH, MUL & TIME are all set to 0 (they are those 3 knobs in the center under TIME STRETCHING). Then click the rectangular box to the right of those 3 knobs. A drop-down menu should appear. Click on RESAMPLE at the top if it's not already selected. Then click the MISC tab at the top. Hit the RESET button down at the bottom. Then try seeing if the sound is normal.

This was just handled in another topic

I'll type this down here aswell. Very often when a one shot sample sounds of after being dropped into a sampler channel. It's due to the fact that for whatever reason the root note of the sample is set wrong. Ceck the tiny piano keyboard at the bottom of the properties screen to see if it's set to middle C. If not use the same keyboard to set the root note to middle C and you should be good.

Try to disable the limiter which is on the master channel's default project file and/or change the checkbox "enable main pitch" inside the sampler.
