Ok, decided after the last one of these that I would talk about soundclick only in this one and share everything I can on it. For Those who didnt see the last one I suggest you go back and check it before this one http://warbeats.com/Community/Forums/aft/5874
Now i'm sure everyone here will know about soundclick or at least have heard about it but I will go over quickly for those who don't. Soundclick is one the biggest if not the #1 place online to sell your beats, the majority of producers selling beats online make there money on this very site. Also a lot of artists know this is the place to look for beats. It has a wide range of categories for music but you will want to be selling your beats in the "Beats/Instrumentals" section. If you plan on taking it serious you will need a VIP page which means it is ad free and fully customisable, not likely to make many sales without a good layout which I will talk about later.
Now how you make money, soundclick is cool because you can customise your page so you can use Paypal, google checkout, ejunkie and more to recieve payment for your beats. I personally use paypal its free and the most widely used one. Once you sort your paypal button out and put it in your layout you will be able to recieve payment from any sales
I will start to talk about the design and layout now, this is very important, I realised this when my sales more than doubled when I got my new flash layout! Your layout has to be simple, good colour scheme, look pro and have everything organised in the right places. First thing is the paypal (Or whatever else your using to recieve the money) it should be right next to the player and ill explain why. When a artist hears something they like they have the impule to just hit buy now, imagine it wasnt next to the player when they heard that beat by the time the scroll down and find it they may have lost that impulse to buy right now. The rights should also be close so the artist doesnt have too look far for them normally the best place is underneath your player so you dont have to scroll its right there nice and simple. Contact info and links should be easy to find also so if they have a question before they go ahead they can ask it, if they can't chances are you will lose that sale. It's natural to ask questions before you buy so you feel comfortable to offer good customer service and be polite and establish trust. Also i've been told by a few producers and read that white backgrounds can help make sales, this is becuase it gives the customers a sense of comfort. Think of Ebay and many other sites look at their colour schemes it is a lot more imprtant thank you may think.
Also if you want to climb up the charts you have to be consistent with your beats, as often as you can upload beats around 1 or 2 at a time I think works best. Dont flood your listeners with all your new beats. Also The higher up you get in the charts the more plays you will get from just being higher up but you should still promote hard dont think you can take it easy because your in the top 25 or whatever.
Thats all for now sorry if i've rambled on a bit too much got carried away
but I hoped you learned some things if you read this and any questions just respond to this or message me.
