I've seen some pretty flimsy ikea stuff but these desks have been solid. unlike my ikea book shelve, that i have to bolt to the wall to keep from falling over, do to the weight of the books its designed to hold. I'm feeling your space gp looks like a good place to get ideas out. |

THere is one model of IKES desk tha is pretty much like designed for a music producer. Sturdy aswell, shame that exact model is not being made anymore. There is a similiar one on offer tho. You will see the old modell when I can manage to take shots of my workspace. |

oh wrd, which mic u think is the best? as for my setup, im planning on getting a Motif or a workstation soon, i dont wanna take studio pics and then take another set since i get the new keyboard lol.
Well, the Rode mic has a hugely crisp high end, but sometimes sound cold because of it. the sE2200A has more natural warmth and is also great for recording small percussion stuff (tambourines etc.), its pretty dope for its price. dope that your getting a motif, i will be crazy jealous ^^ |

its not same. those boards have "color" on the keys that make them the sound different depending on the cords, velocity an progression you play in. although this can help you if you have a friend with the board you want. |

^so the "color" doesnt translate along with the midi data if you get just the rack?? damn that changes my perspective. just wondering... are the sounds really that much better than some of these vsts? cuz i dunno if i can put down 2-3g for just sounds... plus how many sounds would u be gettin anyway... sorry for bein such a board newb |

right. i had got a hold of the motif refills, about 4 gigs of sounds in refill format. so yeah you get a lot of sound and they sound very rich regardless. but go to the store and play with the rack and then the board and you can hear the deference. |

yea midi just doesnt cut it sometimes, unless u go for like very high end controllers. If you guys have a chance to use a hardware board for recording, u'll hear that u have a much more better sound, vst. the tightness of midi donts just dont cut it with realistic instruments, it guess its alright for synths. as vst's are real, real nice sometimes, but keyboards, just have a huge selection of sounds, i rather get something REAL for about 1K then a vst thats worth 1K. + vst's take up a huge amount of HD space, and processing power, especially on large hi end vst's. |

In this thread you can post pictures of your working enviroment / studio or your pet parrot.
Keep it clean, no spam, not off topic discussions. Just pics and info.
I'm feeling too lazy to take a photo of my MPC ,so here's a picture I found on the internet. And seeing as I'm feeling a bit rebellious aswell , here's some Spam.
