It does seem like a very cool concept because it is both hardware and software at the same time. I know that Dawaun Parker and No ID both cosign it too (the "DOA" beat was made with it) which is good enough for me.

I heard EA-Ski is backing it up too.

I'm trying 2 collab with a buddy who lives a few hours away... my project files are massive and I need to know the best way to send things back and forth. Testing out Gobbler.com which seems cool but I don't know too much about it. It supports maschine which is why im trying it. any advice?

Maschine is hot. Period. Better than good. No matter if you compose or sample. You can play a midi keyboard and it will recognize your vst plugins (even the free ones!) It's expensive, but dirt cheap considering all it can do. Mad fast, I can create a trap style beat in a fraction of the time I could in FL Studio. Use it with the mouse or never touch a mouse, your choice. Record your voice into it and sample yourself. Rock, dubstep, trap, club, techno, r&b, however you do it, it will do it. You don't need a DAW to use it, its its own DAW. Plus, it can be set up to control your DAW. I never had an MPC, so I wasn't familiar with the production style...didn't even read the manual, made a beat, first night. Seriously, I'm glad more cats don't have it. The competition would be murder, it's homicidal! lol It's so easy to make music with it it's ridiculous. It, too is built very well and the pads are butter. You don't have to sample with it. You can still compose tracks with this beast, but if you do sample, there is NOTHING that is this easy to sample with. It almost does everything for you. Slice up tracks on the fly, pitch them, automatically assign the slices to pads, on the fly, it's bananas.
